  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

Creamy ricotta filling nestled inside tender pasta shells, smothered in rich marinara sauce, and topped with gooey melted cheese. Perfect for busy family dinners or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Jumbo pasta shells (uncooked)
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, parsley, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth.
  2. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of your slow cooker.
  3. Fill each jumbo pasta shell with the ricotta mixture using a small spoon or piping bag.
  4. Arrange the stuffed shells in the slow cooker, seam side up. Layer if needed.
  5. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells, ensuring they are fully covered.
  6. Add ½ cup of water around the edges of the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, or until the shells are tender.
  8. During the last 15 minutes of cooking, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella over the top. Cover and let melt.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

[‘Don’t overfill the shells; a tablespoon of filling is plenty.’, ‘Layer carefully to ensure all shells are covered with sauce.’, ‘Use good-quality marinara sauce for the best flavor.’, ‘Check the pasta for doneness around the 3-hour mark.’, ‘Add water to prevent the edges of the pasta from drying out.’]
