Ingredients
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (about 2 medium apples) peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- Optional: cinnamon sugar or glaze for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat 1/2 cup (115g) softened unsalted butter and 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in 2 large eggs, one at a time, followed by 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, alternating with 1/2 cup (120ml) milk. Mix gently to avoid overworking the batter.
- Fold in 1 1/2 cups (about 2 medium apples) of diced apples, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top. If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Slice and enjoy!
