Description

A creamy, boozy Irish cream coffee perfect for cozy winter evenings, combining rich dark roast coffee with smooth Irish cream liqueur, whipped cream, and a hint of vanilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (240 ml) freshly brewed dark roast coffee
  • 3 oz (90 ml) Irish cream liqueur (e.g., Baileys or RumChata)
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) heavy cream, chilled
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew about 8 ounces (240 ml) of fresh, hot dark roast coffee, preferably stronger than usual.
  2. Warm 3 ounces (90 ml) of Irish cream liqueur gently over low heat in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl for 1-2 minutes, avoiding boiling.
  3. Stir 1 teaspoon of brown sugar into the hot coffee until dissolved (optional).
  4. Pour the warmed Irish cream liqueur into the sweetened coffee and stir gently to blend.
  5. Whisk 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of heavy cream with ½ teaspoon vanilla extract in a chilled bowl until soft peaks form (2-3 minutes with a mixer or about 5 minutes by hand).
  6. Carefully spoon or pour the whipped cream over the coffee mixture to create a floating layer.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon on top for garnish.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Chill serving mugs to help whipped cream hold its shape longer. Warm Irish cream gently to preserve alcohol content and flavor. Use freshly brewed strong dark roast coffee for best results. For dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and use dairy-free Irish cream alternatives.
