Description
A quick and comforting pasta dish featuring a rich, buttery Parmesan sauce that clings beautifully to every strand. Perfect for weeknights or cozy weekends.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti or Fettuccine
- Unsalted Butter
- Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Garlic, minced
- Pasta Water
- Salt
- Black Pepper, freshly ground
- Optional Garnishes: Fresh parsley or basil
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup (240 ml) of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Gradually add the reserved pasta water, about 1/4 cup (60 ml) at a time, stirring to combine. The sauce should become creamy and silky. Adjust the consistency as needed by adding more pasta water.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss gently to coat every strand in the sauce. Use tongs to ensure even distribution.
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Toss again to incorporate.
- Transfer the pasta to serving plates or bowls. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
