Creamy Cream Cheese Dip Recipe with Easy Cheesy Golden Crust

  • Author: Lena
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A rich and smooth cream cheese dip topped with a perfectly crisp, golden cheesy crust. This quick and easy dip is perfect for parties or late-night snacks, offering a comforting and flavorful experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (full-fat for best creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir gently to incorporate evenly and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the chopped fresh chives.
  5. Transfer the mixture to your baking dish, spreading it out evenly and smoothing the surface.
  6. Mix the grated Parmesan cheese with melted butter in a small bowl.
  7. Sprinkle the Parmesan-butter mixture evenly over the dip.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the crust is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to thicken.
  10. Garnish with the remaining fresh chives before serving.

Notes

Soften cream cheese fully to avoid lumps. Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and crust texture. Melted butter mixed with Parmesan creates a golden, flavorful crust. Let the dip rest after baking to thicken. Tent with foil if crust browns too fast. Serve with toasted baguette slices, corn chips, or vegetable sticks. Refrigerate leftovers up to 3 days and reheat in oven to maintain crust crispness.
