Creamy Salami and Cream Cheese Roll-Ups

  • Author: neuriox
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 20 roll-ups (serves 6-8 as an appetizer) 1x

Description

These quick and easy roll-ups combine smoky salami with creamy, herbed cream cheese for a crowd-pleasing party appetizer. Ready in just 5 minutes, they’re perfect for gatherings, snacks, or lunchboxes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 thin slices salami (about 7 oz / 200g, Genoa, Hungarian, or spicy Italian)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley or dill, finely chopped (optional, for garnish or mixing in)

Instructions

  1. Lay out 20 slices of salami on a clean cutting board.
  2. Soften 8 oz cream cheese in a bowl (let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes or microwave for 10 seconds).
  3. Add chives, garlic powder, and black pepper to the cream cheese. Stir until smooth and evenly combined. Add red pepper flakes or extra herbs if desired.
  4. Spread about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture evenly over each salami slice, leaving a small border at the edges.
  5. Roll each salami slice tightly around the filling into a spiral.
  6. Optional: Wrap roll-ups in plastic wrap and chill for 10-15 minutes for neater slices.
  7. Slice each roll-up into 2-3 bite-sized pieces with a sharp knife. Skewer with toothpicks if desired.
  8. Garnish with extra herbs or black pepper. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for easy spreading. Don’t overfill the salami slices to prevent mess. Chill before slicing for cleaner pinwheels. Swap meats or herbs to suit dietary needs. For vegetarian, use grilled zucchini or roasted red pepper instead of salami. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
