Description
A quick and easy minty milkshake perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any refreshing indulgence, featuring creamy vanilla ice cream and a hint of mint extract.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (480 ml) vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon mint extract
- A few drops green food coloring (optional)
- Whipped cream (for topping)
- Chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
- 1–2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients: Measure out 2 cups (480 ml) of vanilla ice cream, 1 cup (240 ml) of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of mint extract, and a few drops of green food coloring if using. Prep your whipped cream topping and any garnishes.
- Add the ice cream and milk to your blender jar. Pour in the mint extract and green food coloring. If you want it sweeter, add 1-2 teaspoons of sugar here.
- Blend on medium speed for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until smooth and creamy. Adjust thickness by adding more milk or ice cream as needed.
- Taste and adjust the mint flavor or color by adding more mint extract or food coloring in tiny increments and blending briefly.
- Pour the milkshake into serving glasses. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate chips or festive sprinkles.
- Serve immediately with a straw.
Notes
Add mint extract gradually to avoid a medicinal taste. Use full-fat vanilla ice cream and whole milk for best creaminess. Short blending bursts preserve texture. If milkshake separates after sitting, stir or blend again before serving. Food coloring is optional; fresh mint leaves can be used for natural color but may add a grassy flavor.
