Creamy Whipped Maple Butter

  • Author: Lena
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: About 1 cup (approximately 8 servings) 1x

Description

A quick and easy homemade whipped maple butter spread that is light, airy, and packed with rich maple flavor. Perfect for cozy breakfasts like pancakes, waffles, toast, and muffins.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (227 grams) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup (100% real maple syrup, grade A amber preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt (about 1/8 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Soften the butter by leaving it out at room temperature for about 30 minutes until soft but not melted.
  2. Place the softened butter into a mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, whip the butter for about 3 to 5 minutes until pale and fluffy, scraping down the sides occasionally.
  3. Lower the mixer speed to low and add 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Continue whipping for another 2 to 3 minutes until fully combined and airy. Taste and add the extra tablespoon of maple syrup if more sweetness is desired, whipping briefly again.
  4. Add a small pinch of salt (about 1/8 teaspoon) and whip once more to mix.
  5. Spoon the whipped maple butter into a clean jar or container. It can be used immediately or chilled for 30 minutes to firm up and develop flavor.

Notes

Use high-quality European-style butter for best creaminess and flavor. Butter temperature is key—soft but cool, like firm cream cheese consistency. Avoid overwhipping to prevent grainy texture. Store in airtight container refrigerated up to two weeks; remix before serving if firm. For dairy-free version, use coconut-based spread but texture will differ. Variations include adding cinnamon, honey, herbs, or bourbon for flavor twists.
