Flaky, golden cinnamon twists made with crescent roll dough, perfect for cozy mornings or last-minute brunches.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can crescent roll dough
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Optional: 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface, gently pressing the seams together to form one large rectangle.
- Spread the melted butter evenly over the dough using a pastry brush.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into strips about 1 inch wide. Twist each strip gently and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the twists in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let the twists cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a plate. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Work quickly with crescent roll dough to prevent stickiness. Customize the filling with cocoa powder or crushed nuts for variety.
