- 2 slices sharp cheddar cheese or about 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional for extra meltiness)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
- Optional add-ins: thin slices of tomato, crispy bacon bits, garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (188°C), about 3-5 minutes.
- Butter one side of each bread slice evenly with softened butter.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing one slice, buttered side down, then layer sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheese, and top with the second slice, buttered side up.
- Place the sandwich flat in the air fryer basket, ensuring it is not overcrowded.
- Cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through (around 3-4 minutes) using tongs or a spatula, until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove carefully and let rest for one minute to allow cheese to settle.
- Slice diagonally and serve warm.
Notes
