Description
This recipe delivers perfectly cooked, flavorful chicken breasts with a crispy outside and juicy inside using an air fryer. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6–8 ounces / 170–225 grams each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin recommended)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground if possible)
- Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper for a slight kick
Instructions
- Pat 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Toss the chicken breasts until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 8-10 minutes. Check internal temperature to ensure it reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the chicken and let it rest on a plate or wire rack for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Pat chicken dry before seasoning to ensure crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to check for 165°F internal temperature. Let chicken rest 5 minutes before slicing to lock in juices. For extra crispiness, add 2-3 minutes cooking time but watch carefully to avoid drying out.
