Description
A quick and easy breakfast recipe that transforms refrigerated cinnamon rolls into crispy waffles with a sweet icing drizzle, perfect for a cozy and indulgent treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- One 8-count can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (Pillsbury recommended)
- Non-stick cooking spray or melted butter for greasing the waffle iron
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for icing
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (whole or dairy-free alternative like almond or oat milk)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for icing
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron for 5-7 minutes until hot. Spray generously with non-stick spray or brush with melted butter.
- Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate each roll gently. Optionally sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon inside each roll.
- Press each cinnamon roll flat between your palms to form a disk about 1/2 inch thick.
- Place one flattened roll onto the hot waffle iron and close the lid gently. Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
- Use a spatula or tongs to lift the waffle out and place on a cooling rack or plate. Repeat with remaining rolls.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and pourable. Adjust thickness by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
- Drizzle the icing generously over warm waffles and serve immediately.
Notes
Flatten cinnamon rolls before cooking to ensure crispy edges and gooey centers. Grease waffle iron well to prevent sticking. Keep waffles warm in a 200°F oven while finishing the batch. Avoid overfilling waffle iron to prevent mess.
