Crispy Spaghetti Tacos

  • Author: neuriox
  • Total Time: 33 minutes
  • Yield: 810 tacos (about 4 servings) 1x

Description

These crispy spaghetti tacos inspired by iCarly combine crunchy taco shells, saucy spaghetti, and gooey cheese for a playful, nostalgic dinner that’s quick, easy, and guaranteed to delight kids and adults alike. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or whenever you want to turn an ordinary meal into something memorable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) dry spaghetti noodles (classic or gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/4 cups tomato sauce (homemade or jarred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 810 crispy taco shells (stand-and-stuff style preferred)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Extra parmesan for topping (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley
  • Extra crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sliced black olives (optional)
  • Chopped green onions or chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with salted water and bring to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook for 8–10 minutes until al dente. Drain and toss with olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and minced garlic. Stir for 1 minute until fragrant, then add tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Add drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat. Stir in grated parmesan cheese. If the sauce seems dry, add a splash of pasta water.
  4. Arrange taco shells on a baking sheet. Sprinkle a pinch of mozzarella in the bottom of each shell. Warm in a preheated oven at 350°F for 4–5 minutes until shells are hot and cheese is just starting to melt.
  5. Using tongs or a fork, fill each shell generously with spaghetti mixture. Top with extra mozzarella and a sprinkle of parmesan.
  6. Return filled tacos to the oven for 2–3 minutes until cheese is bubbly and shells are extra crispy.
  7. Remove tacos from the oven and top with chopped basil or parsley, black olives, or green onions as desired. Serve hot.

Notes

For best results, assemble and bake tacos just before serving to keep shells crispy. Use gluten-free pasta and shells for a gluten-free version, or vegan cheese for dairy-free. Add roasted veggies or cooked meat for variations. Prep toppings and shells while spaghetti cooks for efficiency.
