Description
A quick and easy recipe for chocolate-coated Oreos decorated with colorful sprinkles, perfect for parties and sweet treats.
Ingredients
Scale
- Oreos (regular or double-stuff)
- 12 ounces semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup assorted rainbow or themed sprinkles
- Optional: white chocolate chips for drizzling or dipping
- Optional: pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set out sprinkles in a shallow bowl or plate.
- Melt chocolate chips and vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and glossy. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
- Using tongs or a fork, dip each Oreo into the melted chocolate, coating completely or partially as desired. Tap off excess chocolate.
- Immediately sprinkle the dipped Oreos with sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
- Place dipped Oreos on the lined baking sheet and let set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to speed setting.
- Optional: Melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over set cookies for decoration.
Notes
Use good-quality chocolate for smooth melting and better taste. Keep chocolate warm but not hot to avoid thick clumps. Work quickly to sprinkle before chocolate sets. Store in airtight container; refrigerate in warm climates. Freeze for up to a month.
