Description
A quick and simple frozen margarita made with just tequila, fresh lime juice, and ice. Perfect for summer parties and refreshing gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ounces (60 ml) blanco or silver tequila
- 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
- 1 cup (about 150 grams) crushed ice
Instructions
- Roll your limes on the counter to loosen the juice, then cut and squeeze out 1 ounce (30 ml) of fresh lime juice.
- Measure 2 ounces (60 ml) of tequila using a jigger or shot glass.
- Add about 1 cup (150 grams) of crushed ice to the blender. If using ice cubes, pulse the blender a couple of times to break them down before adding liquids.
- Pour the tequila and fresh lime juice over the ice in the blender.
- Secure the lid and blend on high speed until smooth and slushy with no large ice chunks remaining. If too thick, add a splash of water or more lime juice; if too thin, add more ice and blend again.
- Optionally, run a lime wedge around the rim of glasses and dip in coarse salt.
- Pour the frozen margarita into prepared glasses and garnish with a lime wheel or wedge. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Crushed ice works best for texture. Blend in short bursts to avoid melting ice. Serve immediately for best texture. Optionally rim glasses with salt. Can add orange liqueur or salt rim for variation.
