Easy 5-Minute Broiled Lobster Tail Recipe Perfect for First Timers

  • Author: neuriox
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A quick and simple broiled lobster tail recipe that is perfect for first-timers, delivering tender, juicy lobster with a buttery, lightly charred finish in just 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobster tails (68 ounces each), thawed if frozen
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your broiler to high and position the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
  2. Using kitchen shears, cut down the center of the lobster shell lengthwise, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pry the shell apart and lift the lobster meat, resting it atop the shell but still attached at the base.
  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to blend the flavors.
  4. Generously coat the exposed lobster meat with the garlic butter mixture using a basting brush.
  5. Place the lobster tails on a rimmed baking sheet, meat side up.
  6. Broil the lobster tails for about 5 minutes, until the meat turns opaque and slightly golden on top. The internal temperature should reach about 140°F (60°C).
  7. Check doneness; if the meat is still translucent, broil for another minute but avoid overcooking.
  8. Remove from the oven and brush the lobster tails one last time with garlic butter for extra shine and flavor.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

Keep a close watch during broiling to avoid overcooking and rubbery texture. Rest lobster for a minute after broiling to redistribute juices. For dairy-free, substitute butter with olive oil or vegan butter. Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. If broiler is unavailable, bake at 425°F for 8-10 minutes.
