Description
A quick and easy crescent roll ring filled with savory ham and gooey cheeses, perfect for last-minute gatherings or busy weeknights. This golden, flaky ring is a crowd-pleaser that looks impressive with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 1 can (8 oz / 227 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 6 oz (170 g) sliced ham, chopped or torn into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard or honey mustard
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or chives
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line your baking sheet or pizza pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Unroll the crescent dough carefully. Separate the triangles along the perforations but keep them intact.
- Arrange the dough triangles in a circle on the prepared pan, points facing inward, overlapping the wide ends slightly to form a ring with an empty middle.
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the dough wide ends.
- Sprinkle the chopped ham evenly over the dough.
- Combine shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses in a bowl and sprinkle evenly over the ham layer.
- Starting at the wide end, fold each dough triangle over the filling and tuck the tip underneath the ring to trap the filling inside.
- Mix melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush the mixture generously over the top of the crescent ring.
- Optionally, sprinkle freshly ground black pepper on top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and cheese is bubbling through the seams.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or chives if desired. Slice or pull apart and serve warm.
Notes
If cheese leaks during baking, fold dough triangles tighter to hold filling better. Avoid soaking dough with too much butter mixture to prevent sogginess. Preheat oven fully before baking for even browning. Tent with foil if edges brown too fast. Pat ham dry if very moist to avoid excess steam. Can assemble and refrigerate up to 4 hours before baking. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for 3 days and reheat best in oven or toaster oven.
