Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberries Recipe with 5 Simple Ingredients for Perfect Homemade Treats

  • Author: neuriox
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 20 servings 1x

Description

A simple and quick recipe for glossy, smooth chocolate-covered strawberries using just five basic ingredients. Perfect for gifting, snacking, or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • About 20 medium-sized fresh strawberries
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) good-quality semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 ounces (55 grams) white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon (14 grams) unsalted butter
  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly (about 10 minutes).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and unsalted butter together in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, heating in 20-second intervals and stirring until smooth and glossy (5-7 minutes).
  4. Dip each strawberry by the stem or using a toothpick/fork into the melted chocolate, coating most of the berry. Let excess drip off and place on the prepared baking sheet. For a thicker coating, double dip after the first layer sets slightly (about 5 minutes in the fridge).
  5. Optional: Melt white chocolate chips gently and drizzle over the dipped strawberries using a small spoon or piping bag (about 5 minutes).
  6. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on each berry immediately after dipping while the chocolate is still wet.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to let the chocolate harden completely (15-20 minutes).

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Use room temperature berries for best results. Double dip for thicker chocolate coating. If chocolate seizes, add a teaspoon of neutral oil and stir quickly. Store in a single layer in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Not recommended to freeze.
