A quick and easy crescent roll taco ring filled with seasoned beef and melted cheese, perfect for a comforting dinner or party snack.

- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or about 2 tablespoons homemade blend)
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional: 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheese
- Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, chopped fresh cilantro or green onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onions are translucent, about 7–8 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and taco seasoning mix. Pour in 1/4 cup water and simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Unroll both cans of crescent roll dough and separate into 16 triangles. Arrange triangles in a circle on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet with points facing outward, overlapping wide ends to form a 12-inch ring.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the wide ends of the dough inside the ring. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and optional Monterey Jack cheese over the beef.
- Fold each triangle point over the filling toward the center, tucking the tip under the ring to seal.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with cilantro or green onions if desired. Serve with sour cream and salsa.
Notes
Use room temperature dough for easier shaping. Drain excess liquid from beef filling to prevent soggy dough. Fold dough edges securely to avoid leaks. Rotate pan halfway through baking if oven has hot spots. For gluten-free, try gluten-free crescent dough or puff pastry. Variations include using ground turkey, chicken, or vegetarian fillings.
