A simple and refreshing lemon water detox drink that provides a natural morning boost with fresh lemon juice and water, optionally sweetened and flavored with herbs or spices.

- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice (from 1 medium-sized lemon)
- 1 cup (240 ml) filtered or spring water (cold or room temperature)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) raw honey or maple syrup
- Optional: a few sprigs fresh mint leaves
- Optional: a pinch of ground ginger or turmeric
Instructions
- Wash the lemon thoroughly (about 1 minute) to remove wax or pesticides.
- Cut the lemon in half (30 seconds) using a sharp knife.
- Juice the lemon (2 minutes) using a citrus juicer or reamer, extracting about 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of juice. Remove any seeds or strain if desired.
- Add 1 cup (240 ml) of filtered or spring water (15 seconds). Use room temperature or cold water based on preference.
- Mix in optional ingredients (30 seconds): stir in 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of raw honey or maple syrup, add fresh mint leaves or a pinch of ground ginger/turmeric if desired.
- Stir well (15 seconds) to blend all ingredients evenly.
- Taste and adjust (30 seconds) by adding more water or sweetener if too tart, or more lemon juice if too mild.
- Serve immediately for best flavor and vitamin C benefits. Optionally add ice cubes but avoid letting it sit too long.
