Description
These Nashville Hot Bacon Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks are bold, cheesy, and utterly irresistible—a perfect snack for parties, game nights, or indulgent cheat days.
Ingredients
- Mozzarella cheese sticks (whole milk recommended)
- Thin-cut bacon strips
- Nashville hot seasoning (cayenne, smoked paprika, garlic powder, brown sugar)
- All-purpose flour
- Eggs (lightly beaten)
- Panko breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
- Vegetable oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a cooling rack on top.
- In a small bowl, mix cayenne, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and brown sugar to prepare the seasoning.
- Wrap each mozzarella stick tightly with a strip of bacon, ensuring the ends overlap slightly.
- Roll the bacon-wrapped cheese sticks in all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip each flour-coated stick into the beaten egg mixture to coat evenly.
- Roll each stick in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently for a solid coating.
- Sprinkle the Nashville hot seasoning generously over the breadcrumb-coated sticks.
- Place the coated sticks on the cooling rack and spray lightly with vegetable oil spray.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and the cheese starts to ooze.
- Let the mozzarella sticks rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Chill mozzarella sticks in the freezer for 10 minutes before coating to prevent excessive melting. Adjust seasoning to taste for spice level.
