Description
A fast, healthy, and delicious salmon recipe featuring a sticky honey garlic glaze, cooked to perfection in the air fryer in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- Salmon fillets (about 6 ounces or 170 grams each, skin-on or skinless based on preference)
- 2 tablespoons honey (raw or organic preferred)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped green onions or sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice until smooth and combined.
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels to help sauce stick and promote crisping.
- Using a basting brush or spoon, evenly coat each fillet with about half of the honey garlic sauce, covering tops and sides.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket skin-side down (if skin-on), ensuring they do not touch.
- Air fry for 7 minutes. At about the 5-minute mark, check edges for crispiness and brush with remaining honey garlic sauce for a glossy finish.
- Check doneness: salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Cook an additional 1-2 minutes if needed, watching closely to avoid drying out.
- Remove salmon and let rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Keep the skin on the salmon to help hold the fillet together and add crispy texture. Double brush the honey garlic sauce before and during cooking for a sticky, flavorful glaze. Pat salmon dry before coating to ensure crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to prevent steaming. Rest salmon for 2 minutes before serving to redistribute juices. If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10-12 minutes but texture will differ.
