Description
This Red Velvet Martini is a decadent, bakery-inspired cocktail featuring a rich blend of vanilla vodka, crème de cacao, Irish cream, and buttermilk, topped with a silky cream cheese foam. It’s quick to make, visually stunning, and perfect for celebrations or cozy nights in.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz vanilla vodka
- 1 oz crème de cacao (white or dark)
- ½ oz Irish cream liqueur
- ½ oz buttermilk or whole milk
- 1 tbsp simple syrup (or agave)
- ¼ tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp red food coloring (gel or liquid, optional)
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 oz heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Mini red velvet cake crumbs or cocoa powder (optional garnish)
- Chocolate shavings (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Foam: In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat with an electric mixer or frother on high for 1-2 minutes until fluffy and smooth. Add a splash more cream if too stiff.
- Chill Your Glass: Place your martini glass in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill with ice water while you prep the drink.
- Mix the Martini: In a shaker, add vanilla vodka, crème de cacao, Irish cream, buttermilk, simple syrup, cocoa powder, and red food coloring. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds until frosty.
- Pour and Top: Discard ice from your glass. Strain the martini into the glass. Spoon 1-2 tbsp of cream cheese foam gently over the top.
- Garnish: Sprinkle with mini red velvet cake crumbs, cocoa powder, or chocolate shavings. Optionally, rim the glass with cocoa powder or red sanding sugar before pouring.
- Serve Immediately: Enjoy right away while the foam is fresh and the martini is icy.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream and vegan cream cheese. To make it low-carb, use sugar-free syrup and monk fruit powdered sugar. Chill all ingredients for best results. If foam is too runny, add more cream cheese; if too thick, add more cream. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired. Garnishes are optional but add visual appeal.
