Description

A quick and easy recipe featuring pork chops glazed with a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic sauce that delivers a perfect balance of flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, 68 oz / 170225 g each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey (80 ml)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (45 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Heat a heavy skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Heat until shimmering but not smoking.
  4. Add pork chops to the hot pan without overcrowding. Cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes until the underside is golden brown and caramelized.
  5. Flip pork chops and cook the other side for 4 minutes. Pork should be nearly cooked through but not fully done.
  6. Push chops to one side of the pan and add minced garlic to the empty space. Sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  7. Pour the honey garlic glaze over the chops and reduce heat to medium-low. Spoon the sauce over the pork chops continuously as it thickens and becomes sticky, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer; pork is safe at 145°F (63°C). Remove chops from pan and let rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the pork chops and serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

If the glaze thickens too much before the pork is fully cooked, add a teaspoon or two of water to loosen it and prevent burning. Patting pork chops dry before searing ensures a golden crust. Watch garlic carefully to avoid bitterness. Let pork rest after cooking to lock in juices.
