Description
A quick and easy recipe featuring pork chops glazed with a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic sauce that delivers a perfect balance of flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, 6–8 oz / 170–225 g each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey (80 ml)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (45 ml)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Set aside.
- Heat a heavy skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Heat until shimmering but not smoking.
- Add pork chops to the hot pan without overcrowding. Cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes until the underside is golden brown and caramelized.
- Flip pork chops and cook the other side for 4 minutes. Pork should be nearly cooked through but not fully done.
- Push chops to one side of the pan and add minced garlic to the empty space. Sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Pour the honey garlic glaze over the chops and reduce heat to medium-low. Spoon the sauce over the pork chops continuously as it thickens and becomes sticky, about 2-3 minutes.
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer; pork is safe at 145°F (63°C). Remove chops from pan and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the pork chops and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
If the glaze thickens too much before the pork is fully cooked, add a teaspoon or two of water to loosen it and prevent burning. Patting pork chops dry before searing ensures a golden crust. Watch garlic carefully to avoid bitterness. Let pork rest after cooking to lock in juices.
